Ps 121:1 I lift up my eyes to the hills… my help comes from the LORD.
Ps 125:2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people
The thing to do when you need help is to look up. Looking down is a signal of a downcast soul. On a sporting field it is a sign of defeat. There is something that shifts on the inside when we look up and out.
Canberra has mountains all around, just like Jerusalem. They can be a trigger to remind us of our trust in God. A visual prompt to remember His promises and get our perspective back. A reset button to focus us on our God being our source of help. We’re not in it for ourselves or by ourselves.
Need help today? You can see the mountains from almost anywhere in in Canberra. If your home is somewhere else in the world, drive and find them. Stop and stare. Get lost in the view. Let your soul be brought back to equilibrium. Remind yourself that you and God’s presence are inseparable.
